CIRIHA is the acronym of Information and Research Center about Food Intolerances and Hygiene. The head Office of the CIRIHA is located in Brussels within the Dietetics and Applied Nutrition Department of the Arthur Haulot Institute and is recognized by the organ of management (CA) of the High School Lucia de Brouckère since March 9th, 1999. The CIRIHA conducts research in the fields of the opposite reactions to food and cardiovascular diseases. The CIRIHA is developing itself towards a center of guidance in the domains of the opposite reactions to food, the food hygiene and the practical nutrition. Its objective is to bring a help to the medical, paramedical, economic world and to the general public in the form of consultancy service, of information and of trainings.

The National Food and Health Plan for Belgium is a multidisciplinary project that aims to enhance better eating habits and increase physical activity in our general population. The NFHP is an open project that lets all actors participate in taskforces per subject: Consumers organizations, the food industry, the distribution sector, universities, etc… can suggest propositions to help fulfilling the objectives. The result is an exciting mix of actions ranging from communication and information to ameliorating the food offer, conducting vital research and offering tools to health professionals to tackle this huge problem. These actions are spread over diverse subjects such as: salt reduction, breastfeeding, under nutrition in the elderly, promoting fruit and vegetable consumption, and more …
