Project
The FOOD project uses an original approach to promote balanced nutrition. In restaurants, it aims to improve the nutritional quality on offer and facilitates consumer choice through improved information and awareness communicated through employers to their employees.
A Public-Private Partnership Consortium composed of experts from six European countries (Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Spain and Sweden) makes this change possible as they are highly committed to the achievement of the objectives set out by the European Commission.
Actions will be led through original networks that are often forgotten but essential: restaurants and companies. A unique and rare channel of communication between both will be built, as the consortium wishes to develop its ability to positively influence the food offers of restaurants as well as European consumers’ lifestyles and habits.
Referring to the European motto of “United in diversity”, a common strategy of action will be defined and then adapted to national specificities. Besides, a high-level evaluation plan will allow assuring the overall quality of the project up to the end of 2010.
